Overview

Our new Video Content Understanding (Cobra) 2.0 introduces major enhancements to automated football content generation, expanding the range of match moments that can be identified, tagged and transformed into editorial content.

The release combines official Opta event data with AI-driven video analysis to provide richer coverage, faster content creation and greater editorial insight throughout a match.

What's New

Opta-Driven Event Annotation

Official Opta events can now directly trigger annotations, removing the need for additional validation and processing steps. This provides more timely and reliable identification of key match events, improving the quality and consistency of downstream content generation.

Expanded AI Highlight Generation

We can now generate highlights from AI-detected match moments that are not captured by traditional Opta event feeds. This enables editorial teams to surface much richer stories and moments beyond goals, cards and substitutions, including:

  • - Skill moves and attacking sequences
  • - Defensive interventions and recoveries
  • - Player and bench reactions
  • - Behind-the-scenes moments
  • - Referee interactions and match atmosphere
